High School Summer Camp 2017: Thursday [DAY 4]
We’re packing our bags and soon we’ll be heading home! We’ve loved camp, but I’m sure the students will be excited to get some rest. Yesterday was our last full day and we used every minute of it. We started the morning off with a service led by our High School Pastor, Matt Harris, followed by small group time. This went until lunch time and after that, we had Recreation! The students experienced Slip-N-Slide Kickball and had a blast! The Pink Team (combined guys and girls) took the win three long, exhausting, intense, hilarious, non-stop falling on your face action! For free time after recreation, we held the annual Volleyball Tournament and of course, tons of pool and beach time. After dinner, evening worship service, and small groups, we held another Fourth Meal. Our kitchen crew fixed up an amazing feast including soft pretzels, snow cones, wings, hot dogs, and much more.
To top off the night, and the last night of High School Summer Camp 2017, Pastor Jeff delivered a powerful and convicting message. We strongly encourage you to visit HERE to listen to this message (or any of the previous camp sermons) or watch HERE! He taught on the sufficiency and necessity of Scripture. The application of this encouraged us all to engage in studying, hearing, and obeying the Bible. It comes down to a COMMITMENT! “We don’t keep His statutes to be saved. Because He saved us, we keep His statutes.”
As we get ready to head into our last service of High School Summer Camp 2017, pray for our students. Our desire and hope is that these students will be anchored in God’s Word, understanding that it is essential for a relationship with the Savior. We pray their lives will commit to following Christ, to stay strongly, firmly anchored in Him.
