Parkwood is served by a team of Deacons who are responsible as team leaders in various areas of ministry. The Deacons involve others in carrying out those servant responsibilities so that the Pastors/Elders can devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Areas of ministry include: Benevolence, First Impressions, hospital visitation, Baptism, Communion, van ministry, helping hands, home-bound visitations, and more.
This team of deacons seeks to minister to members of Parkwood who are no longer able to leave their homes. They visit them regularly, pray with and for them, and ensure that they remain as connected as possible to our faith family.
The Benevolence ministry seeks to meet the physical needs of our members that find themselves in exceptionally difficult circumstances.
HELPING HANDS: HOME
This ministry serves those in our community that need assistance with minor home repairs and light yard maintenance, e.g. annual leaf removal or installing a mailbox.
HELPING HANDS: YARD
This ministry serves members of our faith family who are no longer able to maintain their yard through grass cutting, trimming shrubbery, and other types of property maintenance.
The Van Ministry serves our faith family by picking up those with special transportation needs on a weekly basis for Sunday morning services.
This ministry provides general car care maintenance such as oil changes, changing wiper blades, checking fluids, etc. The team works on the 3rd Saturday of each month. If you enjoy working on cars there is a place for you to serve.
Benevolence funds are given for members or those active in the life of Parkwood who find themselves in times of need. Benevolence funds are not budgeted at Parkwood because we believe the faith family should be able to meet the needs of their brothers and sisters in need.
