Student Team Intern

Purpose:

This intern role is designed to equip those in ministry leadership development to learn how to lead in a local church vocational ministry setting. They will partner alongside our local church in equipping the saints for the work of ministry.  Through hands-on ministry engagement, life-on-life discipleship/community, and theological and practical training; interns will learn valuable ministry leadership skills and gain experience. Interns will support ministry at Parkwood by completing tasks, assisting leadership teams, and preparing and executing events when needed.


Ministry Engagement Responsibilities:

  • Lead as a part of the student ministry team at all student ministry events, Middle School through College Collective.
  • Support the ministry by readily and competently assisting with tasks and administrative work that the ministry requires.
  • Enthusiastically participate in all training elements of your internship.
  • Alongside growth group leaders, develop relationships with students, meeting with and spending time with them throughout the week.
  • Attend games, plays, and other student specific activities.
  • Actively participate and lead in student team meetings.


Leadership Objectives:

  • Build relationships with, lead and disciple a particular group of students within the ministry.
  • Carry the leadership responsibility for designated events and nights of programming.
  • Grow in teaching skills.
  • Be proactive in what needs to be accomplished, not requiring a to do list.
  • Contribute ideas and collaborate with the student team on student strategy and disciple-making goals.

Expectations and Qualifications:

  • Must have completed Great Commission Team (GCT), be a current seminary student, or an undergraduate Junior or Senior.
  • Conviction – Interns must align theologically with the purpose and beliefs of Parkwood.  
  • Character – Interns must demonstrate a lifestyle of integrity and personal holiness and exhibit a strong relationship with the Lord and a desire to grow spiritually. Interns must have a servant’s heart and a humble spirit. 
  • Calling – Interns are exploring a call to ministry and discerning how God will use them in the future. 
  • Competency – Must have some foundational leadership, administrative, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Chemistry – Must demonstrate a love and burden for people, work well with others, and have a humble, teachable, servant’s spirit.
  • Capacity – Must exhibit the gifts, energy, and lifestyle conducive to ministry work.


Duration:

  • 3-12 months


Pay:

  • $1,000 per month divided and paid equally on the 14th and 28th of each month.
