Are you a member of Parkwood? |
|
Are you able to commit to this two year process (in one year segments)? |
|
Regarding the time commitment, do you have any reservations or potential issues? |
|
Are you currently serving in the church? If so, where? | Yes, GriefShare leader and Next Steps |
Are you currently discipling someone? If so, who are you discipling and please tell us about the relationship. | I would consider GriefShare a form of discipleship. It involves sharing Christ through individuals most trying and difficult days. One's grief journey is when individuals need to learn about the love of Christ and the hope that is in Him. |
Is someone currently discipling you? If so, who is discipling you and please tell us about the relationship. | I guess not other than I do feel like Mike Lands disciples me each Sunday during growth group. I was attending the ladies' Bible study on Thursday mornings until it ended for the semester. I am planning on participating again starting in January 2022. |
Have you previously taken any training or equipping classes at Parkwood? (I.e. Bible Doctrine, discipleship, evangelism, 20 Basic Beliefs, GG leader training, etc.) If so, which ones? | No, I have not. I have taken several classes over the years, but none mentioned above. I took the class where we were studying the book of Job. Also, a long time ago there was a class on Philippians, I believe. The last seven years, I have been involved with the GriefShare program which limits my time on Wednesday nights. Also, until most recently, I have always worked full-time which also limited my availability. |
Why do you want to be a part of Disciple Makers Intensive? | I have a desire to learn and grow in the Word. I want to build a stronger understanding and speak the love of Jesus in a confident way, so that I can help others grow in the Word of God. Since my husband's death, I have felt and realized the urgency to share Christ and most recently, the urgency has been reignited. Also, I have been in been in a couple of situations where I have really had to defend the cause for Christ. Though I feel grounded in my faith, I see the need to get in the Word in a deeper way not just for myself, but to help other and to be able to speak biblical truth with confidence and love. |
Do you currently have 1-3 people that can commit to meeting with you twice a month (on average) for discipling over the course of the next year? If so, who are they? | Yes and all three are PBC members. Laura Muana (confirmed) |
Would your spouse or close friend recommend that you participate in the Intensive during your current season of life? |

Choose one of the following doctrines and give us a brief definition and explanation of the subject: God, salvation, the Holy Spirit, or the Bible. | Salvation: Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ and Christ alone. One must acknowledge they are a sinner and are in need of a Savior. One must accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and repent from their sinful life. One must believe that Jesus died on the cross due to my sin, was buried, and was resurrected on the third day, and He ascended into Heaven where He once again resides with God the Father. Accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, one's sins are forgiven; past, present, and future sins are forgiven. Once saved, Christians do not lose their salvation. There is NOTHING we can do to earn salvation. No works will ever be good enough to earn our way into Heaven. We will always fall short without the forgiveness from the Lord Jesus. He desires a personal relationship with us which comes through putting our faith solely in Him and Him alone. Without Jesus Christ, we are condemned to hell and will be permanently separated from Him for ALL eternity. |
