Serving Kids with Special Needs
We’re looking for Buddies to serve alongside kids and students who need additional support so they can participate, build relationships, and be part of what’s happening at Parkwood.
Right now, we have Buddy needs across several ministry times:
- Sunday mornings: Parkwood Kids + Middle School Students
- Sunday nights: High School Students
- Wednesday nights: AWANA + Middle School Students
What is a Buddy?
A Buddy serves one-on-one with a child or student who may need a little extra help navigating their ministry environment. That might look like helping them engage in activities, transition from one part of the morning or evening to another, stay comfortable in a group setting, or simply being a consistent, familiar person they can count on.
You don’t need to be an expert. Our ministry teams help match Buddies with kids or students and provide the information and support you need to serve them well. Whenever possible, Buddies serve consistently with the same child or student, allowing trust and relationships to grow over time.
This is an incredibly meaningful way to serve, and right now, we need more people willing to step into it.
